Safe Haven, Priddis, Louise Lacey-Rokosh, Oil on Cradled Birch, 10 x 20 inches, Framed
After many years as a successful design Architect in England and Canada, Louise Lacey-Rokosh left the field of Architecture to paint full time. Her very graphic background has strongly influenced her painting. Louise has been influenced by many artists throughout her life. What she admires the most in other painters is not necessarily their technical skills but their ability to paint and leave their “handwriting”, their personal identifiable brushwork, on their paintings. This is what Louise strives for in every painting; to capture a moment in time with a sense of light and space with her own “handwriting”.
Louise’s paintings are in private collections in Canada, USA, Europe and Australia. She has won numerous competitions throughout North America as well as exhibiting in solo and group shows annually. Louise was honoured to be named “Feature Artist” at San Diego ArtWalk which is home to over 300 juried artists. She also lead the formation of “Come Paint Alberta” (a provincially recognized organization for plein air events) which culminated in an exhibition at the Leighton Art Centre, Priddis, Alberta.
