Karen Hope, “White Bloom”, Oil, 12″ x 15″, Framed

Karen calls herself a hobby artist.  She first discovered painting in high school art class.  She continued her study by taking classes from various Alberta artists, experimenting with different mediums, styles and subjects.  At this point she describes her style as “eclectic” but enjoys merging realism with abstract using oil paints, gold foil and sparkles.  Her love for nature and animals is reflected in her choice of painting subjects.
